Masturbation

THE HAND-CLIT CONNECTION.

Wanking. Fapping. Jerking Off. Guys have a hundred names for the pleasurable solo activity otherwise known as masturbation. In fact, they even swap stories and tips.

Girls? Not so much. Female masturbation is still very much a taboo topic, sometimes seen as something only “desperate” or “promiscuous” girls do in secret.

But why does masturbation take on such negative connotations when it comes to women? Masturbation is a completely normal and healthy activity. Contrary to popular belief, it isn’t only for people who aren’t having sex on a regular basis. Masturbation lets you explore your body at a leisurely pace, allowing you to discover what feels good and what doesn’t.

Knowing what gets you off is a great way of building your sexual confidence, which could in turn lead to a more fulfilling sex life. Sharing with your partner what turns you on in bed makes it easier for them to please you… and we all know how eager to please some people are during sex! So really, it’s a win-win situation for everyone.

For those of you who aren’t quite sure where to start, here are some ideas:

1. IN THE SHOWER

If you have one of those showerheads with adjustable pressure or a hand-held showerhead, you’re in luck! Directing the stream of water towards your genital area as well as other erogenous zones like your breasts and neck can be a very enjoyable sensation. As you play with the pressure of the water and position of the showerhead, you may soon start to experience different sensations. Good ones, most likely, so don’t get worried – just go with it!

Remember to direct the stream against your genitals and not directly into them, which could (in rare cases) lead to an air embolism. Spraying too much water into the vagina would also mimic douching and thus remove good bacteria from the vagina, possibly leading to infections.

2. SEX TOYS

Sex toys no longer exist only in the form of huge phallic devices that turn some women off. There is now a whole plethora of gorgeous, well-made and sophisticated toys in the marketplace, all designed to give women and men a buzz they won’t forget. Some of them are so discreet that you could leave them lying on your bedside table and no one would be the wiser!

3. EROTIC LITERATURE

Reading erotic literature can help put you in a sexy frame of mind, and give you something to think about when you start touching yourself.

4. LET YOUR FINGERS DO THE TALKING

Dim the lights, put on your favourite music, and most importantly, make sure your door is locked! Once you’re relaxed, use your fingers to explore your genitals and figure out what feels good. Try teasing, sliding, and gliding in and around your clitoris and vagina. You can also touch any other sensitive areas of your body. Pay attention to how your body responds, and enjoy the ride!
